Mobile applications

We have had a dedicated mobile team since 2021. React Native is our default: one codebase, roughly 40 % cheaper than two native apps. When a project needs heavy graphics, Bluetooth or background location, we say so up front and quote native development instead.

01 — What's included

  • Technology choice for the actual task, including an honest take on where cross-platform fails
  • Design to Apple and Google guidelines, not one layout stretched across both
  • Development, push notifications, offline mode
  • Back-end and API if you do not have them yet
  • Publication to the App Store and Google Play under your own account
  • Getting through Apple review, including the resubmissions after rejections
  • Behavioural analytics and crash reporting

02 — When you need this

  • Customers use your service from a phone more than from a desktop
  • You need push notifications that actually arrive
  • Field staff need a tool that works without a connection
  • You have an app, but it is rated under 4.0 and the reviews mention crashes

Pricing

from $24,000

React Native across both platforms with a back-end usually runs $28,000–50,000. Native development for two platforms costs about 1.7× more. An app built on top of an existing API, with no back-end work, comes out $7,000–10,000 cheaper.

Mobile applications

For lists, forms, cards and API calls, users will not notice a difference. It shows up in animation above 60 fps, video processing and heavy 3D. If your project has any of that, we will tell you during estimation, not halfway through the build.
